This weekend kicks of FW 2 which is an open boundary weekend kindly sponsored by Rivers to Ranges .

Fishing kicks off 5pm Friday and weigh in at Taradale club at the later time of 2pm Sunday.

Harbours, estuaries etc are fishable for an Open Weekend.

For those that are travelling, check the catch limits and restrictions for those new areas.

Any fish caught outside the club boundaries will qualify for pins and points but not qualify for club records.

Weather forecast seems to be all over the show for the popular out of town haunts, but the beauty of an open weekend is that there are plenty of options and for those that aren’t looking to travel far , the weather looks at its best in Hawkes Bay. The fishing seems to have quietened off lately locally but there still has been catches of gurnard and snapper. Feels like “Deja Vu” with a bit of a stir up again midweek then a flat offshore sea.

Some epic hauls FW 1, fingers crossed it’s  the start to a doozie of a season, hopefully FW 2 keeps the same trend going.
