With fishing redhot leading into FW 3 it was looking like one for the ages. It didn’t quite eventuate, still some great fish and variety were caught .
Unsure if you want to blame the bit of push from the South Thursday, a tired moon or just the power of a calendar FW. Still plenty of quality fish just noticeably slower.
Sea conditions were screaming fish Friday night but not quite to be. 26 clubbies fished with still some good pockets of fish caught for those lucky enough to be in the right spots.
26 Gurnard, 1 Snapper, 9 Kahawai, 1 smoothound, a released skate and tope, 1 mackerel, 1 barracouta and 1 kingfish. With plenty of smaller fish released. The moki still holding out!
2 pin gurnard weighed at 1.12 respectively by Ahmed and Justin. With Justin weighing in a nice bag of 8 Gurnard.
1 fat pin Kingfish from Dave Henare 11.745kg. Dave’s first kingy off the beach, I’m sure 1 of many to come.
1 moocher Snapper  from Benge at 9.072kg – 1st 20 pounder weighed in for the year. Awesome

New moon Wednesday and with mainly screaming Westerlies should see another belter of a week coming up locally.
Just a reminder that our Kahawai Comp is Sunday 9th November with Early bird tickets closing Tuesday. Plenty of fantastic prizes over $15,000. We tallied up over $3000 just in Spot prizes!!!
