Rivers to Ranges Field Weekend 3 kicks off this Friday 5pm with weigh in Sunday 12pm at the Taradale Club 55 Wharerangi Road Greenmeadows Napier. Normal Boundaries apply.

Prizes for heaviest Snapper, Heaviest Gurnard, Best Other, Average Kahawai and Best Junior. And $150 heaviest gurnard 1kg+

This is a challenge weekend any weighable fish over 2kg will receive an additional 40 points per fish , this excludes SSH and eels and has a limit of 400 bonus points. (ten 2kg+ fish)

At a quick look the weather looks very fishable with a bit of weather from the South on Saturday but nothing too scary . For those looking to travel I’m sure the Mahanga side will be flat if the swell arrives on the other side.  As for locally plenty of options and some really good fishing as of late, hopefully will keep everyone busy .  Nice tides and a nice moon with this weekend leading into a full moon Sunday morning . Combine that with late October I can’t find a reason why it shouldn’t be a belter of a weigh in .

For those chasing bonus points , Kahawai , Snapper and Moki all seem like good bets for some 2kg+ fish .  Kingfish are starting to get caught, gurnard are about and even a strange but large amount of elephant fish being caught . Little bit for everyone in that mix. Surely this weekend multiple pins cross the scales come Sunday.
