This Friday 5pm kicks off our first FW for the 2023/24 season . This is an open FW so you can fish anywhere in NZ . Any fish caught outside club boundaries will qualify for pins and points but not for club records.

Weigh in will be at 2pm Sunday – for the first time at Taradale Club 55 Wharerangi Road Greenmeadows Napier.  I have attached a couple of photos of where you can choose to park if you want and an easier access point to the weigh in.

As per normal make sure you check the daily limits etc for guys looking to travel to new areas. Generally, the weather looks pretty good along the majority of the east coast and after a decent blow Friday it looks to get better and better as the weekend goes on . Tides are strong, new moon to kick things off Friday this is all lining up to be an absolute dynamite weekend for those choosing to fish.

For those that can’t travel all is not lost, although it is patchy there has been handfuls of nice snapper being caught and kahawai seem to be abundant chasing the whitebait. Moki are back in the local waters currently they  just need to be enticed to take a bait.

As per the last email there is an option to measure fish this year, if this sounds like you, probably pay to have a read up on what to do there. Note that you must attend weigh in for these fish to count towards points. Flick me a message if any queries.
