Pania Shield 18+19th April

Great to be able to sneak this in the 2nd time around in the calendar for 2026.

A favourable sea with the fish coming to the party as well.

From all reports everyone across all 3 clubs managed fish with the majority catching impressive hauls.

9 Clubbies representing Pania with Jayden, Mark Ives, Ahmed, George, Robbie D, Nev Kirk, Justin, Glen 7 Hamish all making the trip all with a tidy feed come Sunday.

Top 5 Bags for Pania were George, Hamish, Justin, Mark Ives & Glen Chapman. Impressive bags of snapper and Gurnard.

Although Robbie didn’t manage to be in the top 5 a special mention to him for doubling down and getting stuck the 2nd year in a row on whakaki beach. Impressive all the same!

Just shows how good the fishing was for those that put the time in .

Dylan from Gizzy also managed a very rare catch of a spotted Gurnard.

Fingers crossed the weather can behave itself for the next 4 weeks , with still some quality fish to be caught before winter sneaks upon as.
